When Edward Hutchinson purchased a small propane cylinder exchange company in Hopewell Junction back in 1976, propane was just hitting the scene as a clean new source of energy. Edward immediately got to work building a team of bright, dedicated professionals who shared his strong work ethic; the company expanded quickly so that we could meet the demands of our growing Hudson Valley region.

 

Since that time, we’ve evolved in exciting ways. From 1976-2013 Crown LP Gas, a premiere propane delivery and service company, grew and expanded from its Pleasant Valley, NY base. In 2013 Crown LP Gas purchased a business with deep roots in Millerton, NY: Dutchess Oil and Propane. With this acquisition, Crown LP Gas diversified into a full-service energy company. Today, we offer Propane, Oil, Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene, and have rebranded as Crown Energy Corp. Recently, we moved into larger offices and invested in newer and larger storage tanks for more efficient deliveries. We now have over 60,000 gallons of propane storage so that we can provide quick turnarounds on service requests and we can optimize our capacity to serve the area.

 

Of course, who remains at the heart of our business? The same family who have been getting locals into their comfort zones for over 40 years. Erik Hutchinson, Edward’s grandson, now owns and operates the business with his dad, Ed. Between Crown’s charitable and community work and its longstanding history as a trusted energy company, you’ll be in good hands.
